Digital Learning Day

Dear Parents,

In the event of unexpected bad weather that causes schools to be closed, we have created emergency digital learning day plans to make up for lost time in school. Students will complete required assignments at home and turn them in upon returning to school. Please monitor students.

Digital Learning Day Emergency Plans- Third Grade

Directions: Complete each activity every day we are out of school.

Reading: If you do not have access to technology, complete 30 minutes of reading and write a summary of what you read. You may read books, magazines, newspapers, and articles. If you have access to technology, complete 30 minutes of I-Ready Reading or read a book on Think Central under LaunchPad.

Writing: Write a personal narrative about your snow day(s). If you have access to technology, you can type your personal narrative and email it to your teacher.


Science: Create a log of the food you eat throughout your snow day and circle the foods that are healthy. Compare the amount of healthy foods versus unhealthy.

Math: If you have access to technology, complete 30 minutes of I-Ready math. If you do not have access to technology, create 10 addition and subtraction problems and solve them or 10 multiplication and division problems and solve them.

Pledger- Reading: Read a book you have at home. Write a 5 sentence summary and draw a picture of the events in the chapter. Make sure to identify the characters and include all of the important events.

Baker-

Shivers - ESOL – read for at least 15 minutes and write a summary of what you read (at least 5 sentences). Make sure to include details that are important to the text. If you read a fiction book make sure to tell me about the characters and things that happened to them in the story. If you read a non-fiction book, make sure to write down facts so that I learn about your topic.

Sargent - Complete the line plot activity included in the packet.

TAG Critical Thinking Exercise- Use the clues to solve the logic puzzle, "The Frog Jumping Contest."
